Lewis was born on June 17, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Samuel and Nellie Morgan.

He married Penny Krumwied on November 4, 1961 in Omaha. Lewis was a Master Craftsman and a veteran of the US Marines.

He is survived by wife of 56 years Penny, daughter; Julie Wetherell, sons; Mark , Jeff , grandson; Jordan Payne and brother-in-law; Curtis Krumwied.
