Leo L Zona passed away peacefully on January 15

, at Elkridge Assisted Living in Elkhorn Ne at the age of 90. Leo is survived by His 2 sons Timothy of Gretna and Rodney of Louisburg Ks, 2 grandsons Jason of Gretna and Dustin and great grandsons Rhys and Chase of Omaha. Leo is preceded in death by his wife Helen Ann, Granddaughter Susann, parents Sophia and George, 1 brother Stanley and 2 sisters Helen and Hedwig.

Leo was born on a farm in St Edward Ne and soon after the family purchased a farm in Fullerton Ne. He joined the Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He married Helen Ann Podraza in Sept of 1951. When his service was complete in 1953 he returned to Fullerton and together they farmed. He raised livestock and grain crops. He retired from the farm in July of 2009 at the age of 82 to start a new life closer to his family.

Leo was an animal lover, he had horses, dogs, and cats over the years including a mud duck that was raised from a few days old after found wandering alone.
