Letha Mae Davis was born in Enid, Oklahoma on August 19, 1939 to Lindsey Ward and Annabell Lewis Ward. She attended school in Enid, Oklahoma; she completed the 10th grade. On October 30, 1965, she was united in marriage to Roscoe Davis. They were married for 35 years. In this union came Gloria, William, Roy, Carmela, and Robin. Letha, her husband Roscoe, and their children moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1969, where they lived and raised their family for 30+ years. Letha was a dedicated house wife and later she went back to school and into the workforce. Letha received her GED in 1980 from OIC. She received certificates of achievement in typing and clerical math. Letha worked at the University of Nebraska in the food service department until she retired in 2004. Letha was known for being a strong woman and a hard worker; she was dedicated and passionate about the service she gave. Letha had a giving spirit; giving was her way of showing how much she loved the people around her. Letha was a member of Sharon SDA Church where she served as an usher and received an award stating, "Thank you for your servants’ heart. You make a difference. Well done good and faithful servant. Matt. 25:23". Letha enjoyed going to the casino, shopping, and listening to her favorite music by Marvin Cease, Johnny Taylor, and gospel music. She enjoyed watching the price is right and the Soaps. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She had a nickname for every grandchild and every great-grandchild with a meaningful story about the names. Letha moved to California in 2017 to live with her daughter until she was called home in 2021. Letha is preceded in death on the same date, January 12, as her late husband Roscoe Davis, her sister Linnabell Ward Halley, her brothers Tommy Ward, James Ward and her sister Shirley Royal. Letha is survived by her brothers Roy Ward, Richard Ward, Homer Lee Jones and her sister Almeta Ward., her children Gloria Suarez, William Ward, Roy Ward, Carmela Ward, Robin Young and their spouses 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandkids. Also, she leaves behind her in-laws and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Friday, February 5 th with Visitation 1hr prior at Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave. Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery
