Omaha - Larry Easton Thomas was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, “best buddy” and friend. He left this world on September 7th, 2023 at age 83. He was born to Dale and Virginia Thomas on October 23, 1939 in Washington, KS. He spent his time cruising around town, playing with cars and pranking his dad with a smoke bomb under the hood of his brand new car. He was known for his quirky and witty sense of humor.
After graduating high school, Larry pursued a career in art and had a passion for commercial art throughout his whole life. Larry put art on hold to proudly serve his country in the Air Force from 1962 to 1966 in the Vietnam Era. His service ended in Colorado where he found himself managing a Griff’s Burger Bar. There, he met Linda Mayhew where they fell in love while debating whether 8 or 10 onion rings should be in each bag. They married in 1968 and enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, numerous cruises, trips with friends, and watching lots of volleyball during their 55 years of marriage.
Larry had a lot of hobbies including woodworking, restoring cars, and fishing. He was a talented and creative man who could fix just about anything and even owned his own HVAC business.
Larry is survived by wife Linda, children Bodee Prince, Tina (Jeff) McDowell, Kit (Larry) Nelson, Joyce Thomas, grandchildren Justin, Derek, Brendan, Kayli, Emmy, great grandchildren Ryker, Elaina, loving family and friends.
