Kevin Guy Sillik
Kevin was born to Dale and Shirley Sillik on Nov. 18, 1957. He had 2 brothers Dale, David and 1 sister Lori. Kevin was the third born son. Kevin grew up in Carter Lake, Ia. Kevin’s childhood was fun filled days going fishing with his Dad and brothers at Carter Lake and sometimes on the river. During his growing up years his Dad took him and taught him how to hunt. There were many early mornings in the kitchen making fried egg sandwiches for the hunting trips with his Dad and brothers. Later in life he took up deer hunting. Kevin went on many fishing and hunting trips with his Dad, brothers and friends. Kevin also grew up playing baseball on the Carter Lake ball fields where he spent many days and nights with his friends hanging out and having fun. Kevin’s career included taking a position at American Hydraulics in Omaha where he became a supervisor and worked for 37 years. Kevin also enjoyed horse racing at Aksarben where everyone would come to Kevin for the Sillik hot tip of the day. Kevin also loved and enjoyed all the family holidays. Kevin’s yearly tradition was to power shop for his family on Christmas Eve day. He always conquered it and was present at 5 pm for the Christmas gathering at Mom and Dads house. Kevin was a very loving and kind man, and was gifted as a very good listener to many. Kevin had a very close relationship with his little sister Lori as he always referred to. Kevin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior 14 years ago. He now is in his heavenly home.
Our Beloved Kevin passed peacefully, in the arms of the Lord, on October 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents; Dale A. Sillik, Sr. & Shirley L.
