Kenneth Leroy Ruwe

Kenneth Leroy Ruwe of Gretna, NE passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Ken was born November 27, 1935 in Omaha, NE. 

At the age of 4 he was placed into foster care with Elmer and Lillian Irene Ruwe, who later adopted him.  Ken as an adult can recognized that his sin separated him from God and trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross to pay the penalty for his sin, thus ensuring he will spend eternity in heaven with his Lord and Savior. Ken was an active member for many years at Temple Baptist Church in Omaha, NE and for the past 9 years at Gretna Baptist Church in Gretna, NE. 

In 1997 Ken retired from MUD after working faithfully for 30 years in their billing department.

In 1998 Ken married Melinda Carper, gaining 2 sons, Steven (Kendra) and Shawn Carper as well as a brother-in-law Timothy (Christy) Carper. The joys of his life were his 4 grandchildren, Jackson, Brady, Elizabeth, and Hudson Carper. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lilian Irene Ruwe and his beloved dog Bobbie Joe.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 9th at 11:00 am at Gretna Baptist Church, 20725 E Angus St. Gretna, NE, with Pastor Bryan Clark officiating, luncheon to follow. Memorials can be directed to Gretna Baptist Church.
