of Omaha. Age 97, Omaha, NE. Died suddenly during recovery from a shoulder injury on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Katharine was born in York, NE to Albert J. and Elizabeth Friesen Dalke, and was a graduate of Grant High School, Grant NE and Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL. She taught primary education in rural public schools for grades 1 – 12. On August 25, 1940, she married Henry Warkentin, and the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2010 at their home in Pacific Springs Village. She served faithfully in her role as wife of a Presbyterian minister in churches in Sioux City, IA, Rock Island, IL, and the Chicago area. Katharine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Herbert M. Dalke, Rachel W. Dalke, Bertha L. Dalke, Alma Dalke Benedict, and Alieda M. Dalke Zeitner. She is survived by one sister Ruby M. Dalke Enns, Worth, IL; two brothers, Willard J. Dalke , Reedley, CA, and Irvin W. Dalke , Templeton, CA; daughter Dr. Phyllis I. Warkentin , Omaha, NE; son Thomas H. Warkentin , Chicago, IL; grandchildren Kathryn Coccia, Baltimore, MD, Jennifer Coccia, Omaha, NE, Brent and Blake Warkentin, Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICE Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM, Dundee Presbyterian Church, Omaha, NE. VISITATION Tuesday, January 10, 2017, 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street, Omaha, NE.  Interment Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
