Juanita "Nita" (Kyles) Shields

Juanita Kyles was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 10, 1945. She was the first of three children born to Marjorie Katherine Johnson, and Gutiérrez “Bill” Marie. Juanita’s pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. If she loved you, you knew it, but if not, you knew that also. She attended St. Benedicts Catholic Church in her early years, and then attended Marian High School for girls. Juanita’s passion was that of a business woman, a family trait she picks up as a young lady when she worked the family business, Joe’s Record Shop. At age of 17, she met Clyde Powell, and their first child was born, Robert Lorace Kyles, and a year later, Marchella Ann Kyles. After her mother took ill, she continues to operate Joe’s Record Shop. That business experience sparked, several other business ventures, whereupon she met Jesse Shields, and operated Jesse’s Lounge. Jesse and Juanita were together in life and love for over 30 years. Throughout her life, and in her business, she acquired many long-lasting friendships, extended family and friends. He leaves to cherish in her memory her daughter Marcella A. Bogard, Granddaughter Mashuanda Ball, Grandson – James Giles, Zachary Kyles, Step Daughter JaQuita Shields; Stepsons Jesse Shield, Julius Shields, adopted Daughter Frankie Carter, the Haynes family, Powell Family, and Special close friend Juanita Parker, and a host of other relatives. The family of Juanita Kyles wishes to thank you for all expressions of sympathy and kindness extended to them in their bereavement.
