Johnny Ray Brown



Johnny Ray Brown was born January 24, 1954 in Tyler, Texas to the union of late Leola C. Erwin and Willie Bob Brown.  He was called home January 14, 2017.



He is preceded in death by his brother Arttie D. Brown and daughter-in-law Toiya Brown.



Johnny graduated class of 1972 from Central High School in Omaha Nebraska.  Soon after he entered the United States Military Service as Active duty Nave Officer in 1972.  During his enlistment he earned several honorable mentions and medals to include: National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.  January 1

1978, Johnny became a Navy Reserve.  Prior to exiting the service Johnny had his beautiful daughter Danyail Drew Sanders to Lavaine Drew.

1975, through the matrimony with Sharon K Phelps the two would later create their two amazing sons: Renault J Brown and Malachi J Brown.



Johnny had a great uplifting spirit about him and had numerous hobbies to include cooking, reading, fishing, baseball, boxing and one of his all time favorites: Dominos.  He always had a bright smile that could change anyone’s day.  His personality was loud and humerous with his favorite punch line being “You aint shit!”, and “You aint no authority!”, as he continued to smile.



Johnny Ray Brown is survived by one daughter and two sons: Danyail Drew Sanders from Mckinney Tx, Renault J Brown , and Malachi Brown.  He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Cole Drew , Me’Khia Beasley , Zhauntel Gamble , Malachi Jr , ReJon Brown , K’mouri Brown , Zhane’ Brown , Renault Jr , K’Zaryah TaHiry Brown . His brother Billy Ray Brown, sisters: Carolyn Prescott, Rita Brown, Sarah Smith.  As well as a host of nieces, nephews and the rest of his family and friends.
