John E. Edwards

Age 59, born in Omaha, NE where he was raised and graduated from Millard North High School. He received an Associate Degree in Auto Collison Repair from Southeast Community College, Milford Campus. He was an auto body collision technician working for several independent businesses and dealerships during his 39-year career, holding a Master Certified designation from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Other certifications included I-CAR Structural Technician, I-CAR Steel GMA Welding, I-CAR Aluminum Welding, and Certified Service Technician from GM Mark of Excellence Program including GM Welding.

John is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years: Gwendolynn; son: Aaron and girlfriend Aeriel Frey; brother-in-law: David Furlong and husband Randy Villanueva; mother-in-law: Frances Lineweaver and husband Ken; father-in-law: David Furlong. He is also survived by step-brother-in-law: John (Lori) Lineweaver, step-sisters-in-law: Joy (Steve) Karasti, Judy (Greg) Switek, and Michelle (Bill) Rossman; aunts, uncles, cousins, step-nieces, step-nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Gene and Patricia Edwards, and his grandparents.

John was a member of Boy Scouts of America and an avid volunteer in his son’s Scouts BSA Troop and with the Wagon Wheel District of Mid-America Council. He also volunteered at Lord of Love Lutheran Church in many roles throughout the years. He was a member of United States Bowling Congress and bowled leagues for many years, and he traveled for the national tournaments for seventeen years. John was always willing and able to assist anyone when they called needing help.
