John Paul Brindamour was born in Providence, RI on April 18, 1944, to Ovide and Catherine (Fearns) Brindamour. He passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, after bravely battling Alzheimer’s.
John was the third of five children, following brothers David and Peter, and preceding brother, Brian, and sister, Brenda. John spent his childhood in Rhode Island, working at his father’s service station from a young age. He graduated from West Warwick High School in 1963. John served in the Air Force from July 1963 – July 1967, reaching the rank of Airman First Class, where he was stationed at bases in Lincoln, NE, Thailand, and Bellevue, NE. He met the love of his life, Victoria Marshall, while in Lincoln. They were married on January 7, 1967 and moved to Rhode Island a few months later. Their 3 children, Casey, Donna, and Bobby, were born during their time in Rhode Island. In 1974, a job transfer led the family to Smyrna, TN. Feeling the desire to be closer to family, they moved to Elkhorn, NE, in 1980, where John began a 30-year career at 3M in Valley, NE, retiring in 2011.
Always resourceful at both work and home, John developed considerable skills in engineering, mechanics, and auto repair and could be known to be able to fix or build just about anything! He enjoyed shooting pool, playing golf, boating, camping, traveling, and most of all, sharing these interests with his family!
John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Brian Brindamour, and his sister, Brenda Carey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky; children, Casey (Rod) Scheer, Donna (Kelly) Blum, and Bob (Keli) Brindamour; grandchildren, Kyle (Hope) Scheer, Benjamin and Brandon Brindamour, Emma and Max Blum, and Colton Scheer; brothers, David Brindamour and Peter (Maryanne) Brindamour; and many nieces and nephews.
