Joan Raishy, age 88, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Maple Crest Health Center. Joan was born in Manchester, England November 29, 1933, to Leo F. and Rose Anderson. She was proceeded in death by parents Leo and Rose; brother John Anderson. She is survived by husband George S. Raishy; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Douglas Holmberg and Gail and Tim McKay; her grandchildren Meredith and Morgan Holmberg, Jacob and, wife, Logen McKay, and Nolan McKay; her great-grandchild Theodore Holmberg. Joan met the love of her life, George Raishy, when he was stationed in England at Burtonwood RAF base 7559 th Air Police Squadron. She took a position as a nanny in Long Island, NY and, after George received his honors and discharge in 1955, they married in North Tarrytown, NY on November 10, 1956. She worked in retail and had a unique gift for fashion, color, and décor. Joan was a loving daughter, wife, mum, and nana. She adored her family and was the first to fulfill a need for those she loved. She liked history, loved to travel, dance, read, and anything crafty. She liked to make people laugh and enjoyed having fun and joking around. She was our queen and will be greatly missed. May we honor her by paying it forward. Memorial Service: 5pm Friday, August 26, with VISITATION 1 hour prior from 4-5pm at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108 th Street, Omaha, NE.
