Jerry Lynn Peck, 83, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on February 17, 2026. He was born on October 22, 1942, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Arthur W. and B. Virginia Peck.
Jerry graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Stationed in San Francisco, California, he served aboard the USS Zelima during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Jerry earned the rank of Machinist’s Mate Second Class and returned to Omaha upon his release from active duty. He began his career in sales at Shell Development Company, followed by time at Gulf & Western and American Can Company. In 1982, Jerry joined James River Corporation as a territory sales rep. He quickly earned a promotion to regional sales manager, a position he held until his separation from James River Corporation in 1995. From 1996 until his retirement in 2013, Jerry worked for Napa Genuine Parts Company.
Jerry was known for his love of hot rods, mechanics, animals, nature, gardening, lawn maintenance, fishing, ice fishing, sweet treats, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Kay Peck. They were married on September 17, 1966, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Omaha. He is further preceded in death by his brothers, Dean Peck and Greg Peck.
Jerry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and M. Scott Payne; his son, Andrew Peck; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Tonya Peck; and his daughter, Katie Peck. He is also survived by his grandson and wife, Matthew and Laura Payne; grandson Nicholas Payne; grandson and wife, Joshua and Hali Bruning; granddaughter Harper Peck; and granddaughter Georgia Peck. Finally, Jerry is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Gatzemeyer.
Jerry’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St, Omaha, 68164. Visitation to follow the service, 12:45 pm -2:30 pm.
