Bennington - Jerry Lawrence Jorgensen, 68, died peacefully on May 16, 2026, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on July 14, 1957, in Omaha to John and Bobbie (Sherwood) Jorgensen.

Jerry grew up in Omaha and graduated from Benson High School in 1975. He married the love of his life, Diane Halldorson, on September 21, 1992. Together, they shared 41 wonderful years, including 33 years of marriage.

Jerry and Diane raised three children: Tracie (David), Bryan (Suzanne), and Troy (Tara), and were blessed with nine grandchildren: Addison, Aubrey, Ayler, Matthew, Zachary, Owen, Seth, Ella, and Ethan.

Jerry is survived by his siblings, Chris (Becky) and Jodi. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bobbie Jorgensen, and siblings Terri and Robert Jorgensen.

Jerry retired from Mutual of Omaha in 2022 after 26 years as an IS Security Analyst.

He loved reading Tom Clancy novels and military history, classic cars, Labradors, and Husker football. He enjoyed dining at his favorite restaurants with Diane and will be remembered for his gift of storytelling and his deep love of dogs, fishing, hunting, and wildlife.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Roeder Mortuary, 108th Street Chapel. Jerry will be cremated and memorialized at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life is being planned, with details to be shared at a later date.
