Jennie L. Jacobs

Jennie Lee Leach was born June 24, 1930, raised by Vera Leach in Omaha, Nebraska. As a child, Jennie most enjoyed taking train rides to visit family in California, starting a lifelong love for spending time among the palm trees and sunshine. Jennie met her darling' Warren 'Pat' Leonard Jacobs while attending Druid Hill Grade School. Jennie got to know Pat through her cousin, Clinton, who led Pat's Boy Scouts Troop. She attended Technical High School, where she graduated in 1948.

Jennie and Pat married on September 17, 1950, beginning a beautiful life together. Their years together were spent raising four children, Stephen, Kevin, Patti, and Pam, as well as building a strong philanthropic presence in the Omaha community. Jennie and Pat enjoyed traveling, whether it was a weekend trip to Vegas in the 50s to see up-and-coming stars like Elvis, attending a Congressional banquet in Washington DC, or collecting trinkets across Europe for all their family members as they explored countries like Germany and the Netherlands.

When she wasn't fishing, crocheting, visiting her condo in Indian Wells, or attending Husker games, Jennie was an avid volunteer in the community, dedicating over 50 years to Methodist Hospital. In 2020, she was the first volunteer to reach 50 years of service! She received the Spirit of Volunteering award in 1989 and the Honorary Lifetime VIP award in 1995 from the Methodist Hospital Foundation.

Jennie's legacy lives on through her 4 children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
