Jason F. Moore

Jason Fletcher Moore was born on January 13, 1972, to William and Linda Moore in Dubuque, Iowa. He was raised in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania from December 1972 until graduating from Moon Area High School in 1990. He played soccer and baseball but especially enjoyed playing the drums in the school band activities. Of course, he continued to be a strong Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

Following high school, Jason graduated from Parks College/St Louis University in 1995, majoring in Aviation Administration. He began his career at Union Pacific Railroad in 1999 and continued in various positions with emphasis in a management role as a dispatcher in Omaha, Nebraska until his passing, 2025.

Jason met the love of his life, Mildred “Millie” Aragon, and they were married in 2009. They welcomed two children, Zoe Isabelle Moore, 2010; Evelyn Lucille Moore, 2011. He was dedicated to his family, always putting them first. The love and devotion to his daughters was beyond believable. Everything Jason worked for was for Millie and the girls. Being a devoted husband and “daddy” was his life’s goal and he excelled at that.

Jason was a naturally talented musician and was mechanically and analytically skilled. He enjoyed all types of music, except country, and even played in a band for a time, “Off the Hook”. His daughters brought him so much joy and pride, both for their character and talents. Their music, whether the piano or the violin, or show choir, or daily singing and dancing filled his world.

Whatever he put his mind on, his focus was on excellence, very particular about even the smallest of details. He had a strong sense of right and wrong. Centered at that was his demand for fairness and kindness which made him a special friend, colleague, and inspiration to his family. Jason had a wonderful and quick sense of humor and even developed a skill for cooking in the last couple of years. He loved cars and working on the mechanics of equipment, unless it detracted from time with his family.

Jason passed away on January 30, 2025, after a 2-month battle with esophageal cancer, which he fought valiantly through each day to have time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Millie; his daughters: Zoe and Evie; his parents: Linda and Bill Moore; Aunt: LeeAnn Stransky; Aunt: Lydia (Terry) Shipley; Cousins: Robin Yerrington, Nick and Matt Shipley.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Evelyn and Arthur Weik, and paternal grandparents: Lucille and Fletcher Moore; and Cousin: Tom Stransky.
