Janice M. Closner

Janice Closner left us peacefully on July 8, 2018 at Bryan West Hospital.

Jan was born November 4, 1939 in Omaha to Henry and Mildred Biel. She graduated from Gretna High School and attended the University of Nebraska where she met her husband, Gary. They were married for 54 years. Jan settled down in Lincoln and stayed at home with her two sons, Glen and Shawn, until they were both in school. Jan worked for O.U.R. Homes as the Assistant Administrator of the assisted living facility.

Her interests included spending time at the lake with family, watching Husker football games, volunteering at the Waverly Elementary School library, and making crafts. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members.

Jan was preceded in death by parents; husband Gary; daughter baby Closner; brother, Delmar Biel; sister-in-law, Barb Biel. Survived by sons: Glen, Shawn , grandchildren: Cody , Jamie , Austin, Drew, Jacob, Alyssa; sister, Marcelyn Hurst ; brother, Larry Biel; nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.

Visitation Thursday 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary ~ Gretna Chapel; Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday July 13, 2018 at Resurrection Lutheran Church 153 S. McKenna Avenue Gretna, Nebraska; Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery Omaha, Nebraska.
