Janice Joann Hughes was born on April 29, 1939 to Walter and Alma Nemitz in Denison Iowa. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Janice attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Graduated from Omaha North High School. Janice and Pete Davis raised their children in Omaha and in 1981 moved to Dallas Texas.


In 1994 Janice pursued a career in nursing. She attended and Graduated Iowa Methodist Nursing School. After Graduation Janice moved to Sun City West Arizona where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Janice was very active in her church and Bible Studies.


Janice met and married Jerry Hughes where they happily resided in Sun City, Arizona until her death.


The Lord called Janice to receive her Crown of Life and to her eternal home on November 4, 2018 at the age of 79 years 6 months and 6 days. She is preceded in death by her Parents Walter and Alma Nemitz, Brothers Leonard Nemitz,Shirley Nemitz, Sisters, Mildred Nemitz, and Arlene Nelson. She is survived by her Husband Jerry Hughes, children Jeff Bradford , Lori Miller, grandchildren Chandler Blaisdell, Cole Bradford, Sisters, Marcella Heye, Verdonna Crombie,Sharon Nemitz,Dorothy Riley,Margie Nemitz, Brother, Vern Nemitz, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.


Visitation Thursday 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service Friday 10:00 AM at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N 108th Street Omaha, NE. Janice will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery on November 16, 2018. Our family looks forward to the day when we will reunited with each other and our Lord Jesus Christ.
