Janet D. Mohring

Janet D. Mohring, 70, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning October 4, 2026 at Methodist Hospital with her husband and son at her side.

Janet Denise Conry was born February 27, 1956 in Omaha to John (Jack) Conry and Dorothy Langdon Conry.

Janet introduced herself to her future husband Wayne Mohring in January 1986 by an invitation to a ladies choice dance. His stumbling around the dance floor must have appealed to her, they married April 11, 1987 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Charles City, Iowa. The family was made complete in 1993 when son Mark joined them.

Janet got her love of Beatles music at an early age when her parents would leave the house. Her brother, now in charge, would kick her outside and play Beatles records while she listened on the front porch.

Another great love was animals. A cat or dog was always present in her life, many times in multiples. Guinea pigs, hamsters and birds were also welcome residents. Janet enjoyed breeding Pomeranians for a few years but realized she would have to give that up when she no longer wanted to part with the puppies. Her Poms Sugar Bear, Bently, Boo-Boo and Pearl miss her very much.

Janet held many jobs throughout her life, from healthcare billing and coding to CNA, and even the school lunch lady. But her final and favorite position was as a dog groomer. She hated to give that up when an injury resulting in a shoulder replacement forced her into retirement.

But that did not stop Janet. She followed many local classic rock bands and enjoyed dancing with numerous friends right up to the end of her full life.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Conry, Jr. brother-in-law Robert Ollie and sister-in-law Eunice Mohring Follmuth.

She is survived by her husband and their son Mark. Also surviving are her sisters Susan (Ted) Schneiderwind and Caroline Ollie.
