James Earl Wallace, Sr.

James Earl Wallace, Sr.

James "Jim" E. Wallace SR, 70, of Omaha, NE, passed away on January 16, 2024. He was born on May 13, 1953, in Bayshore, NY. Jim was a quiet, reserved, hardworking, meticulous, wise, and timeless man. He had a passion for mechanical engineering and was a mechanic along with a drag racer in his earlier years. James turned his appreciation for motors into driving trucks. Jim had a successful 53-year career as a legendary truck driver, owning and operating James Wallace Trucking for 26 years. 

Brother Wallace cared very deeply for the people around him and worked hard for those who he loved. Throughout his life James created an undeniable Legacy and love for serving others. That Legacy will continue to live on through his family and friends. 

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Anita Wallace, and their beautiful children: Marco (Kimone) Rankins, James E. Wallace Jr, Willie Rankins, Crystal Bailey, Shoniece Wallace, and Frank Wallace. He is also survived by his brother, Marvin (Phyllis) Wallace, sister, Janice (Rev.Mosley) Wallace, and cousin, Clausaundra Wallace-Parker. Jim was a proud grandfather to Asher Rankins, Omarion Wallace, Malachi Wallace, Jamiyon Wallace, Keyoine Bailey, Kinta Bailey Jr, and Kelis Bailey. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Wallace, father, James Wallace, granddaughter, Myracle Belle Wallace, and grandson, Shawn Wallace.

Jim attended Wyandanch High School and furthered his education at Wilson Tech, specializing in Mechanical Engineering. 

Outside of his career, Jim enjoyed relaxing at home watching Tiger Woods, cartoons, action movies, and listening to music artists such as James Brown, Luther Vandross, and Varies Gospel Artist. He found solace in his faith and was a member of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, NE.

A visitation will be held at Roeder Mortuary on January 26th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, located at 2727 N 108th Street, Omaha, NE 68164. 

A Celebration of Life service will take place on January 27th at 9:00 am at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2124 Lothrop St., Omaha, NE 68110. 

Jim will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn on January 27th at 10:30 am, located at 7909 Mormon Bridge Rd, Omaha, NE 68152.
