James Stolmeier, 74, of Valley, Nebraska, formerly Davenport, Iowa, passed away on March 31st, 2024, surrounded by family. James was a humble Christian, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a brother to 11 siblings. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in all of our hearts.
James attended Colorado State University and St. Ambrose, earning his degree in civil engineering and a MBA. He owned and operated Big River Technologies, collaborated on many engineering teams and was a construction project manager across the country, however, his most meaningful time was spent as a grandfather. James loved the outdoors and cherished family camping adventures at Devils Lake in Wisconsin.
Preceded in death by: parents Vincent & Kathleen; brother Richard Stolmeier.
Survived by: loving wife Ann of 53 years; children: Pete (Renee) Stolmeier, Sara (Bryson) Metcalf, Emily (Andy) Kyser, Kevin (Deirdre) Stolmeier, Jake (Liz) Stolmeier; grandchildren: Isaac, Owen, Elliott, Henry, Nora, Gus, Jack, Colin, Emmett, Tristan, Greta, Graham, and Wyatt.
A Celebration of life is planned for the family at their annual Devils Lake camping trip later this year.
