James L. Ruff (Jim)

Gretna - Preceded in death by wife Susan, mother Mary. Survived by father Henry, brothers Henry Jr. (Tina), Randy (Lisa),  Ryan (Michele), father & mother-in-law Virgil & Pat Harms, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Jim (Jimmy) was born to Henry & Mary Ruff, and raised a lifelong resident of Gretna, NE. Jim attended Gretna Public Schools and graduated in 1983. He went on to Kearney State College, and though he didn’t finish his degree, we all know he made a lot of friends.

In 1989 Jim married the love of his life, Susan (Sue). They were married for 23 years before her untimely passing in 2012. Jim was employed at Nebraska Hydro Seeding for 34 years, he took great pride in representing this company, and enjoyed his work, and coworkers.

The life of Jimmy Ruff will be remembered by his family and friends as one of jokes, hugs, and a toast to doing it his way! The void left by his passing can only be filled by the memories of a loyal husband, a great son, brother, uncle, and solid friend to many.

Visitation Sunday (12/8/24) 2 - 4 PM at Roeder Mortuary with Celebration of life to follow at Gretna American Legion 11690 S 216th St. Gretna. Memorials to the family to be designated later.
