James "Jim" Reaves

Reaves,  James  "Jim"
7/29/1965 - 2/23/2023

Jim Reaves, 57, took his last breaths surrounded by family on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 after living with cancer for 6 years. He was born on July 29th, 1965, to Louis and Setsuko Reaves in Sasebo, Japan. Jim and his sister, Patty, grew up as Navy kids bouncing between Japan, Hawaii, Illinois, and California. The family eventually settled in Port Orchard, Washington where he graduated from South Kitsap High School. In college, he met the love of his life, Michele, and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Washington University. He spent the entirety of his professional career managing, engineering, and optimizing UPS facilities in the Midwest and West Coast.

As a young parent, Jim loved to watch, coach, and play sports with his sons Devin and Dillon. Jim and his wife, Michele, formed a second Nebraska family around their sons’ sports that lives on years past the last Millard West football & baseball games. In his last days, Jim will be remembered for his cheerful smile while on FaceTime with granddaughters, his perseverance through pain to stand and hug loved ones, and his relentless intention to live for the next family gathering. His legacy lives on in all those whom he loved and cared for the last 57 years.
