Jaquelyn Joann Biel was born, first daughter, on 12-21-1932 to Bernard and Mildred (Bartels) Biel. She was baptized February 12, 1933 and confirmed March 30, 1947, both at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millard, Nebraska. Jackie attended Dist. 31 country school and graduated from Millard High School in
1950. While working as a waitress, Jackie met the love of her life, Edwin Charles Mowinkel. They were married at Resurrection Lutheran Church on July 9, 1951. To this marriage 2 daughters were born, Shirley JoAnne and Sheryll Rae. They farmed together on various farms east of Gretna. Jackie worked as a bookkeeper for Papillion Schools, Gretna Schools, and Sapp Brothers. She served her church as nursery Sunday School teacher and organized lay readers for the church services. She was active in Sarpy County extension council and Evening Bells extension club. 4-H was important to her, serving as a club leader and Sarpy County fair superintendent. Jackie and Ed enjoyed fun times with friends, bowling, dancing to polka music, following the grandkid's activities, traveling, and cruising.
Jackie was preceded in death by husband Edwin, parents Bernard and Mildred Biel, parent-in-laws Harry and Louise Mowinkel, sisters and brothers-in-law Jodeen (Willis) Rix and Judy (Loren) Plambeck, brother’s infant Ray and Leonard Biel, brother-in-law Harold Mowinkel.
She is survived by daughters Shirley (John) Wittmuss and Sheryll Mowinkel, grandsons Andrew (Amy) Rongisch, Jason (Cheri) Wittmuss, Brian (Nina) Rongisch and Charles Wittmuss, granddaughter Sheila (Jason) Hajny, great-grandchildren Lauren Rongisch, Dylan Wittmuss, Ava Rongisch, David Hajny, Anthony Rongisch, John Hajny, Tyler Hajny, Scarlett Hajny, Stephanie (Riley) Christie, Shelby (Christian Lauritsen)Kinman, great-great-grandchildren Kiley Christie, Keslee Lauritsen, Cooper Christie.
Visitation Tuesday 5 – 7 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service 10:30 AM Wednesday (10/29/2025) at Resurrection Lutheran Church 153 S. McKenna Ave Gretna. Interment Voss-Mohr Cemetery. Memorials to Resurrection Lutheran Church.
