Harold Walton, Jr.

HAROLD WALTON, JR. was born on January 27, 1947 in Porter, OK to Harold Walton, Sr. and Lena Marshall. He moved to Omaha, NE where he resided and spent the rest of his life.

Harold graduated from Technical High School and worked for Evans Laundry as a delivery driver. Harold joined Vickers Hydraulics and was employed with them for over 30+ years until the business closed. Harold later joined Omaha Public Schools where he served as a bus driver until his retirement.

Harold married Sylvia Ann Martin and unto this union three sons were born, (Harold Walton, III, Terrell Walton, and Kinte Walton) of which two preceded him in death. God called Sylvia home and Harold continued to provide a loving home for himself and his son, Kinte.

Harold later met and married his current wife, Jo Lavone Marion and unto this union one son was born, Kapree. Harold had a very quiet and gentle spirit, but he was no pushover by any means! Harold was a very devoted, loving, faithful, husband, and wonderful dad to his two sons. You can’t find any closer brothers than Harold and his brother, Clarence, and Clarence called his Big Brother Harold (Little Brother and June Bug). He had a great love for his Oklahoma and Kansas City family and Harold absolutely adored his grandchildren! He enjoyed family gatherings, grilling, fishing, gardening, watching boxing, basketball, and football, and most of all listening to his favorite Down Home Blues all night long! You’d find Harold sitting in the garage, outside on the front or back porch or even in the car well off into the evening and on into the night listening to his blues! Harold enjoyed the sunshine, and our picnics at the lake.

Harold accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior during one evening in New Jerusalem Church’s Good News Bible Study and was a faithful member. Every morning Harold awakens to listening to his favorite TV ministry, Pastor Arnold Murray of Shepard’s Chapel. Harold was a faithful member of Believers Fellowship Church where he remained until his departure. Harold loved the Lord wholeheartedly and is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Marshall; father, Harold Walton, Sr.; two sons, Harold Walton, III, and Terrell Walton; Sisters: Lillian Collins, Annie Mae Hunter, Barthell Jenkins, Betty Barnett, Rosie Mae Thomas, Lillian Borens, and Bernice Motley, and Brothers: Carlee, Cornelius, and Maxie Holmes.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his Loving wife, Jo Lavone Walton; two sons, Kinte and Kapree Walton; Brother, Clarence (Gwen) Walton; two Grand-daughters: Taia Rencher and Kinae Walton; Special Sis-In-Law, Rebakha Holmes; Special Niece, Linda (Bob) Pressey; one Brother-in-Law, five Sisters-in-Laws and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and other family and friends.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.   ~2 Timothy 4:7-8
