Gwendolyn Ann Barnett, 75, entered eternal rest on January 12, 2025. Gwen was born on June 10, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. The daughter of Barbara and George Booth, and granddaughter of Irma Barnett. Gwen graduated from Technical High School in 1968. Following high school, she attended college at Metropolitan Community College.

Gwen was a Janitorial Supervisor for Creighton University. She also had her own Janitorial Company called “GeeBar’s”. Some of her hobbies were going out to eat, listening to music, watching Soap Operas, and shopping. Gwen loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Omaha, NE. She was also an active member of the Omaha LBGT community.

She is predeceased by Parents; Barbara and George Booth, Grandmother; Irma Barnett, Brother; George Booth Jr., and son, Eugene Barnett. She is survived by Sisters; Kming Rosenthal of Newport Beach California, Loura Hall and Lorita White(Keith) of Omaha NE, Granddaughters; Rebecca Barnett of Aransas Pass,Texas and Samantha Barnett of Omaha, Nebraska, Great-Grandsons; Eric and George Rollins of Omaha Nebraska and Great-Granddaughter Emersyn Darnold of Aransas Pass, Texas, Nieces; LaShonda Tuff (Ron) of Omaha, NE and Latoi Sullenger(Alex) of Surprise, Arizona and a host of friends and family.

In one of Gwen’s final conversations with her sister, Kming, she said that her trust was in the Lord and she knew that he would never leave her alone. He would always be a long side her. 

A service of remembrance will be held at 2pm, Saturday, January 18th, at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N 108th St. Omaha, NE 68164. In lieu of flowers please donate to OutNebraska (https://outnebraska.org/) in remembrance of Gwen.



Eugene D. Barnett, 52, passed on December 9, 2022. Eugene was born on August 12, 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska. The son of Gwen Barnett, and grandson of George and Barbara Booth.

Eugene was a cross-country truck driver who had a love for driving. Some of his hobbies were video and arcade games, music, comedy shows, and cars. One of his favorite shows was “Chappelle's Show”. He also liked to watch Cheech and Chong movies, WWE Wrestling, and Horror films. Eugene was talented. He loved draw and he even did his own tattoos.

He is predeceased by Grandparents;George and Barbara Booth and Great Grandmother, Irma Barnett. He is survived by Daughters; Rebecca Barnett of Aransas Pass,Texas and Samantha Barnett of Omaha, Nebraska, Grandsons; Eric and George Rollins of Omaha Nebraska and Granddaughter Emersyn Darnold of Aransas Pass, Texas, Aunts; Kming Rosenthal of Newport Beach California, Loura Hall and Lorita White(Keith) of Omaha NE.
