Gloria J. (Grixby) Creighton

Precious Memories Gloria Creighton, child of God, was born on September 20, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late George, Sr. and Pauline Grixby.  She was the second of nine children.  She attended Kellom Elementary, St. Benedict’s Middle School and graduated from Mercy Catholic High School.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.  She was a faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Gloria was united in holy matrimony to George Green, Jr. in 1957 and to this union two sons; Charles Edward, Sr. and Russell Lee were born.  She met the love of her life, John Creighton who she was united in marriage for over 50 years. Gloria was active in the NAACP Women Omaha Charter and was an avid golfer.  She won several golfing tournaments.  She worked for Omaha Public Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 2017. Preceded in death by husband; John Creighton, brothers; George Grixby, Jr. and William Grixby, Sr., sisters; Lillian Johnson and Judy McCullough.  Survived by brothers; Ronald and Michael Grixby, sisters; Patricia Lenton and Arlene Ellis, sons; Charles, Sr. and Russell Green, all of Omaha, Nebraska, grandsons; Charles, Jr. of Coffeyville, Kansas and Terrence, Sr. Green of Kansas City, Missouri, great-grandchildren; Tarynn and Terrence, Jr. Green, nieces, nephews and many family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 2, 2021 with Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Benedict the Moor Parish, 2423 Grant St. Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery
