Gerald S, Knight passed away peacefully in his home on June 27, 2025 at the age of 80 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last few days of his life.

He is survived by his daughter: Heather (Joel); granddaughter: Meghan (Keanu); brother: Roger (Sue).

He is preceded in death by his parents: Oren P. and Maye H. Knight; brother: Dennis Knight; and nephew: Jeff Knight.

Jerry was born on August 8, 1944 in Omaha, NE to Oren P. and Maye H. Knight.

He graduated from North High School in 1962. On July 13, 1968 he married Betty Ann Knight and they had one daughter, Heather. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and was stationed in Lakenheath Air Force Base, England. After returning to Omaha in 1970, he worked at Union Pacific as a crew dispatcher and retired after 34 years. Once retired, he moved to California for 17 years before returning to Omaha last year to be closer to his family.

He loved spending time with his family, listening to music, reading his bible, and his new hobby of building Legos.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday (7/2/2025) and Service 11:00 AM Thursday (7/3/2025) both at Roeder Mortuary 2727 N. 108th St. Omaha, NE; Private family burial at Omaha National Cemetery at a later date.
