Georgie R. Rerucha

Omaha - Georgie Rae Rerucha was born on March 31, 1937 in Wahoo, Nebraska to George and Marie Skokan. She married the love of her life, Ivan Rerucha, on April 27, 1957.  For 58 years they were rarely apart,  raising two daughters, Debbie DiMartino and Lori McGaffin, building their dream home outside of Omaha, and traveling to their favorite vacation destination, Las Vegas. Whether trout fishing in Wyoming or enjoying a backyard bbq with grilled chicken and her brother-in-law’s homemade ice cream, Georgie cherished time spent with family.  She made lifelong friends working at Richman Gordman and Walmart.  Playing cards and enjoying a glass of wine with friends and neighbors, and most recently playing keno at her restaurant of choice were her favorite ways of passing time. Without a doubt, her greatest joy was being grandmother to Matt , Molly , Curtis, Kathryn and Joe, and great-grandmother to Layla, Riley and Jack, who will cherish her always as their beloved “Bubby”. In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Georgie is survived by her sisters Mary Jane Baer and Betty Zahourek, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all who will miss her dearly.   Visitation Tuesday 4:00 - 7:00 PM at mortuary.
