Gene H. Johnson

Born on August 13, 1939 in Moline, Illinois to Charles and Ruby (Jarvis) Johnson.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all who know and loved him.

After high school, Gene served in the Air Force between 1956 and 1960.  He then worked primarily as a truck driver before going into the Army full-time in 1978.  He retired from military service as a Sergeant First Class in 1994.

Preceded by: his parents and his brother Charles Johnson, Jr..

Survived by: his wife Peggy (Potter) Johnson of 55 years; brother David (Brenda) Johnson; children Andrea Severson (Kathleen Kline), Barbara (Tom) Montgomery, Jeff (Kim) Johnson, Jason (Peggy) Johnson; grandchildren Philip, Chelsea, Nicole (Eric), Kayley (Terry), Brandon, Nathan (Natalie), Kinsey, Cole (Brianna), Tyler, Gauge, Chance, Crystal (Eric), Brian (Trent), Abby, Heidi; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Kyra, Vanessa, Vanellope, and Vanora; many nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends.

Visitation with family and friends 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Friday (11/17/23) at Roeder Mortuary 11710 Standing Stone Gretna, NE.  Interment at Omaha National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.  Celebration of life 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Gretna American Legion 11690 S. 216^th Street, Gretna NE.  Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Gretna American Legion Post 216.
