Gary A. Wilkins, 89, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026.

Gary was born on October 19, 1936, in Silver City, Iowa, the oldest boy and second child of Albert and Marvel Wilkins. After the passing of his father, Albert, in 1943, the family moved from Silver City to Omaha, Nebraska. Gary graduated from South High School and entered the carpet installation industry, where he worked until his retirement in 2005.

On April 8, 1961, Gary was united in marriage to Joann R. Koesters. Together they had three children: Jody, Jeff, and Tammy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joann Wilkins, parents, Albert and Marvel Wilkins, stepfather, Herschel Siemmering, and his brothers, Terry and Robert Wilkins.

Gary is survived by his 2 sisters, Sharon and Bonnie, his daughters, Jody Wilkins and Tammy (Mike) Anderson; his son, Jeff (Ann) Wilkins; his grandchildren, Allie (Matt) Wulf, Cody (Katelyn) Anderson, Paige Anderson, Cole (Tessa Villotta) Wilkins, Cameron Wilkins, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

VIGIL SERVICE: Sunday August 2, 4:00 PM with VISITATION from 3:00-4:00 PM at Roeder’s Mortuary 108th Street and Maple.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday August 3, 2026 11:15 AM, Saint Cecilia Cathedral, 701 North 40th Street, Omaha

INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery, 7710 West Center Road, Omaha NE

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society.

There will be a luncheon following the comital service at the American Legion, Post #1,  7811 Davenport St.
