Frank was born on February 21, 1928, on the family farm in Arcadia Iowa to Frank and Catherine Ocken. 

After graduating, he worked as a farm hand, doing some construction, selling china and various other jobs. He went to California for a short time and worked at the AiResearch Manufacturing Co. 

He moved back home to Iowa and soon met Ann Roeder at a dance. They married in 1956 and moved to Omaha. They had 6 children together. He took a position at Kellogg’s and was employed there for 29 years. After his retirement from Kellogg’s, he and mom stayed busy, they were part of the activities at their church, St James, traveled to see out of town children and grandchildren, daily morning mass and breakfast with friends, and many family events. Dad loved to laugh and have fun. 

Their final move was to New Cassel Retirement Community where they were well taken care of and loved by many. They were married 65 years. 

Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Ann; and daughter: Catherine Lightner. He is survived by his children: Christine (Glenn) Hills, Jerry (Lou), Dale (Nancy), Michelle (David) Wiese, Marty (Sarah); 15 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; sister: Charlotte Ocken.

Visitation 5:00 - 6:00 PM Thursday (2/13/2025) with Vigil 6:00 PM at Roeder Mortuary 108th Street Chapel; Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Friday (2/14/2025) at St. James Catholic Church 9025 Larimore Ave. Omaha, NE; Burial at Calvary Cemetery Omaha, NE.

The family would like to thank the staff at New Cassel Retirement Community, Sisters with a Purpose, and St. Croix Hospice.

 In lieu of flowers memorials to New Cassel Foundation.
