Frances Fenn Vail

My mom was the oldest of 6 children and she bore a lot of responsibility as a child. She wanted to become a nun in the Catholic Church, but the priest told her she asked too many questions.

My Mom loved music; it was a big part of her life. Her favorite song of all time was Sugar Shack by Jimmy Gilmer. She also loved Tommy Edwards, Little Anthony and the Imperials and especially the Platters.

She and Donald, her husband met early in life during their high school days, but they did not know each other very well. They were re-introduced many years later and fell in love after their first date, seeing Bobby Darin at the Hartford Civic Center.

They had 2 children; Donna was born in 1964 and Dann in 1967. Their love of children and family responsibility had them accept foster children into our home. Jay, Joy and Darcy. They then took in my mom's sister's child for about a year. His name was Raymond, and he was adored by all our family.

In late 1968 my mom received a knock on the door, and she was presented with the book "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life. That was the biggest change in her life.  She read the book in one night and woke my father up early in the morning and said, Don, I have found the truth!

On September 20, 1969, she was baptized, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved Our God, Jehovah until her death.

Subsequently mom became a big listener of Kingdom Melodies, when they were available to purchase on vinyl records for home listening, she would play it every day and we would all sing along.  We followed mom in her worship of Jehovah.  As many know Mom has always had the pioneer spirit in her worship of our God Jehovah.

We look to the promised Kingdom to take away all our Physical, Mental and Emotional Sicknesses that exist on earth today.

The one thing that gives us peace of mind and confidence in reuniting with Mom, she was truly Jehovah's faithful and loyal servant.  Even during her last years, she embraced the truth deep in her heart.
