Mother Eva Mae Murphy (Mitchell)

Eva Mae Murphy was born on Feb 19, 1942 to Morgan and Georgia Mae Mitchell, in Springvale, GA. 

Eva was educated at Randolph Clay High School, in Cuthbert, GA. She accepted Christ at an early age at Morris First Baptist Church in Morris GA. Eva moved from Cuthbert, GA. to Omaha, NE in 1960. 

She was a faithful member of Tabernacle of Faith COGIC for over 40 years under her brother Pastor John E. Mitchell Sr. and sister Pastor Barbara Mitchell, as the church mother. 

Eva was married to Earl H. Murphy Sr. in 1960. They had five children. 

Preceded in death by her parents Morgan and Georgia Mae Mitchell, her Husband Earl H. Murphy Sr. Her brothers: Pastor John E. Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Joe Lewis Mitchell, Sisters: Catherine Tate, Christine Smith, Flossie Johnson, and grandson Derrick Lee Jr. 

Survived by her children: Connie, Earlene, Marketta, Mark, and Earl Jr. all of Omaha, NE. Sister Betty Reed Hollywood, CA, 16 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones. 

Visitation at Roeder Mortuary on Ames, Friday, Nov. 22 from 4pm-8pm. Funeral service will be at Tabernacle of Faith 2404 Fort Street on Saturday, Nov 23 at 9am. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
