2727 N. 108th St. Omaha, NE 68164 496-9000 Jimmie Lee Byrd was born on May 5 th , 1944 to the union of Edmond and Fannie Byrd in Louisville, MS. He moved to Omaha, NE, with his family, as a young child. Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Church of the Living God, Temple 33 in Omaha, NE. Jimmie received his formal education in the Omaha Public School System.  After graduation, Jimmie worked for Lozier’s Corporation for 25 years. In 1970, Jimmie married the love of his life Brenda Faye Byrd and to this union three children were born. Jimmie Byrd also had three children from a previous relationship. Jimmie Byrd had the heart of gold and helped shape many lives. His love of cars kept him at the junk yard and doing small jobs on cars with his friend Elder Dilwood. But his all-time passion was his ministry and working in the Church of the Living God. Jimmie Lee Byrd departed this life on Tuesday, September 28 th , 2021. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, sister Lily Marie Dixon, sister Francine Chakolis, brother Eddie Byrd, sister Josephine Moore, and daughter Shonda Byrd-Bates. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Brenda Byrd of Omaha, NE, children Torri Penn of New Jersey, Tina Miller, Edmond Byrd, Jimia Bullard all of Omaha, NE, Jimmie Byrd of Little Rock, AR, sisters Irene Muldrow of Brooklyn Park, MN, Elizabeth Vaughn of LaVista, NE and Betty Liddle of Omaha, NE, eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children, and friends.
