Elaine was a giver, spending a lifetime taking care of others. Sorrow as a child and later as a parent solidified her dedication to making things better for those who needed it. If she was part of your life, you knew she was “all in” for you.
Independent and self-assured, Elaine was always involved. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Nursing Home Volunteer, Cancer – I Can Cope Leader, Open Door Mission Volunteer, and Millard School Board member.
As a Kindergarten teacher, her work ethic and ability to connect with every child was unmatched. Genuine connections last, and Elaine was receiving invitations from former students for high school, college, graduate school, and medical school graduations every year, well into retirement.
Elaine was dearly loved by her husband Larry, her sons; Bob and Ben, her grandsons; Kam and Sam, and her siblings, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Wilber, Marlin, and Cletus; sister, Donna; husband, Larry, and daughter, Kamela. Elaine is survived by her siblings; Alvin, Retha, and Dennis, her sons; Bob (Staci) and Ben.
A visitation will be held to celebrate Elaine’s life on Tuesday, August 29th, from 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary 108th Chapel. Celebration of Life to be held Wednesday, August 30th 11 AM at Rejoice Lutheran Church (2556 S. 138th St). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rejoice Lutheran Church.
