Age 94 – The world lost a good man, husband, father, grandfather and hero. Ed spent 55 years of his life giving back to the community. He was a founding member and longtime Fire Chief of the Irvington Volunteer Fire Department. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley and son, Wayne Townsend. Survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Eugene (Theresa), Thomas (Susan), 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Visitation: Tuesday 5-7 PM at mortuary. Funeral Service: Wednesday 10 AM (10/12/2022) at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, NE. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Omaha, NE. Memorials to the Irvington Volunteer Fire Department.
