Dr. Roger C. Dahlgaard, Jr.

Roger Dahlgaard, 79, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died in hospice care on May 28, 2025.

Roger was born in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1945 to Roger Sr. and Mata Dahlgaard. Roger attended Waterloo West High School before joining the Army in 1963. During his service to our country, Roger was stationed in France and Vietnam and received a Purple Heart in January 1966. He married Karen Kelley on October 1, 1966, in Waterloo. Roger then went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, where he graduated in 1973. He successfully started his own practice, The Council Bluffs Chiropractic Clinic, in Council Bluffs that same year. He ran his business for nearly 50 years before retiring in 2022.

Roger adored his family, friends, fast cars, and a multitude of pets over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Sr. and Mata Dahlgaard, and brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Karen, son Ryan Dahlgaard (Jan), daughter Kim Soulliere (Mark), son Jay Dahlgaard, granddaughters Haley and Elizabeth Dahlgaard, grandson Bronson Barnes, sister Diana Varney (Clyde) of Ft. Worth, Texas, sister Deb Boeckman of Johnston, Iowa, and sister-in-law Linda Dahlgaard of Waterloo, Iowa.

Roger’s burial will occur on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Omaha National Cemetery. A gathering will take place from 1:30-3:30 on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Brookside Church Elkhorn, 3434 N. 204th Street, Elkhorn, NE 68022.

The family requests no flowers or plants be sent. Instead, please make a donation to Brookside Church, or the charity of your choice, in memory of Roger.
