Dr. Kenneth Alford Harman
Ken Harman was born to Otto and Lula Harman on February 3
rd,
1928, in Burke, South Dakota and died in Omaha, September 15, 2017, at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Jo Harman, daughter Bobbie Allgood , and sons Rich Harman and Tom Harman , eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Upon graduation from Burke South Dakota High School in 1946, he enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1946 until 1948 on the
USS Vermillion
and
USS New Kent
.
He attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Creighton University graduating from Creighton Dental School with a degree in dental science and later received a master’s degree in orthodontia from University of Nebraska Dental School. He practiced dentistry in Valentine, Nebraska for nine years and orthodontics in Omaha for thirty-two years during which time he also served as a clinical professor at the Creighton and University of Nebraska Dental Schools.
