Dorothy L. Taylor

12/23/1934 - 3/16/2022 Age 87 – She was born on December 23, 1934 to Fred and Georgia Clough, in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating from Omaha Technical High School, she attended Boyles Van Sant Business College. She met and married her first and only love, Elwin Grant Taylor Jr. They were married at Offutt Air Force Base, on May 24, 1953.  They were blessed with three children, Ronald, Steven, and Kimberley. After living in Cleveland for eight years they returned to Omaha in 1961 where Dorothy was hired as a typist at Mutual of Omaha.   She later became Office Manager, and retired from Mutual in 1999. She joined Clair Memorial United Methodist Church in 1961.  She truly loved Clair, and sang in the choir, ushered, taught Sunday School, Trustee Board, United Methodist Women, tutored for the Community Center, volunteered for the Salvation Army, and Uta Halee Girls Village. Her favorite charity was the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. One of her favorite things to do was to take care of her grandchildren, and she was always available when needed. Dorothy and Elwin were married for 58 years. They loved to travel, and they enjoyed Baseball.  They visited Wrigley field many times to cheer for their beloved Cubs! It has been often said that “they could have more fun with each other, than with a room full of people!” Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving Husband, Elwin G.
