Dorothy J. Robinson

Dorothy Jean Robinson , of Omaha, Nebraska was called home to heaven on Saturday, August 03, 2019.  She was born to the late Andrew and Mary “Mossie” Evans.

She was preceded in death by her husband Silas Milton Robinson of 56 years, daughters Betty Brookins, Patricia Johnson, Jackie Khabir and son Milton.  Her brothers Thomas, Andrew, Rance and Willie Esters Evans and sisters Nell Washington and Josephine Perry.

She is survived by sons Jerry, Terry, Donald , Gregory, Timothy, Alfonzo, David , Mark, Marcus, Daniel and daughter Donna sister Georgia Mae Marks, brother Jerry Evans Sr. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was born in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi on October 28, 1932.  On April 17, 1948 she met and married Silas Milton Robinson in Brookhaven Mississippi.  From that union came 15 children.  The couple relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Denver, Colorado then finally Omaha, Nebraska in 1968 where she continued her role as a devoted wife and mother to her children.

She had given her life to Christ early in her life and began to do her mission work and evangelize in the community.  In doing so, she always shared her faith and belief in God with everyone she encountered.  She was a praying woman and would open her heart and house to anyone to minister to their needs.  She loved reading and studying the word of God and raised her kids to do the same.  She was affiliated with various COGIC churches but her final stop on her spiritual journey landed her the role of Church Mother at United Church of God in Christ.  While fulfilling this role for 9 years, and in her 80s she delivered a Mother’s Day message to the United congregation and guests on biblical principles of being a virtuous woman and mother.  She witnessed to anyone in her path until God called his good and faithful servant home to gain her wings and rest. “He that wins souls is wise” is a key scripture she lived by---thank you Dorothy Jean Evans Robinson for not only preaching but practicing.
