Doris Helen Davis-Clausen was born in Texarkana, AR to Jeremiah Davis, Sr., and Vinnie Lee Davis on June 2, 1951. At the age of 69, Helen passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Helen attended schools in the Omaha Public School District and graduated from Technical High School on June 3, 1970. She also attended Metropolitan Community College, earning a degree in culinary arts. Her love of cooking led to cooking, baking and catering positions throughout her career which included being the kitchen supervisor at the Omaha Correctional Center where she was employed for a number of years. Helen loved cooking for weddings, parties, and church events. She also enjoyed crocheting and was extremely talented; creating customized blankets for family and friends which many still have to this day. She loved hosting family events and spending time with her grandchildren. She accepted Christ in her life and was baptized at Faith Deliverance Church on February 8, 1981. She was a faithful member of the church and loved singing in the choir and worked briefly with the Pastor’s Aid Committee. Helen was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as two Brothers, Ray and George Davis, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her Daughter, Angela Davis-Horton Atlanta, Georgia, sons Cadle Davis and Raymond Davis. Brothers, Jeremiah, Jr. Davis, Jessie Davis, Edward Davis, Sr. And Sisters, Norma, Gardenia and Bettye Davis, all of Omaha, Nebraska. She also leaves fond memories with her 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Visitation: 11:00 to 12:00 Tuesday, May 11, 2021 Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave. Funeral Service: 12:00 Tuesday, May 11, 2021 also at the mortuary. Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, 7602 Military Ave.
