Donna Jean Lorraine Watenpaugh Schutt was born April 21, 1932 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Percy and Dorothy Watenpaugh. The family later moved to Omaha, Nebraska.

Donna Jean graduated from Mercy High School in 1951. After a short courtship, she married John E. Schutt of Neola, Iowa, on September 15, 1951. From this union, they had four children: Linda, John, Carolyn and Sheila.

Donna Jean was happiest when surrounded by her family. She enjoyed traveling, camping, attending Nebraska Women's basketball games as well as attending her grandchildren's’ special events and activities (scouting, soccer, hockey, dance recitals, cheerleading, baseball and swimming).

She was preceded in death by her parents Percy and Dorothy Watenpaugh, sister Darlene Truelsen and husband John E. Schutt. Donna Jean was survived by Linda Koebel (Max “Skip” Koebel), John Schutt (Sheila Schutt), Carolyn McClean, Sheila Rich (Jonathan Rich); six grandchildren Barry Koebel, Scott Koebel (Kelly Koebel), Amber Johnston (Brian Johnston), Eric Koebel (Nicole Koebel), Alexander Rich and Zachary Rich; six great grandchildren Baylee Schutt, Davyn Koebel, Landon Koebel, Dylan Koebel, Gracelyn Koebel and Lilly Koebel and one great-great granddaughter Briella Schutt, and many other family members and friends.

Visitation Thursday 5 - 7 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday (7/12/24) at St. James Catholic Church 9025 Larimore Ave. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to the family to be designated later.
