Donald (Don) Paul Winkler Siner, born July 4, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026 in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife, Anna, and their children by his side. He was the beloved son of Donald and Dorothy Siner, both of whom preceded him in death.

Don spent his entire childhood in Kansas City, Kansas, where he attended Washington High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for two years at the time of the Vietnam War. He continued his education at Donnelly College and Rockhurst College, earning a degree in economics. While at Rockhurst, he met his future wife, Anna Fontana, in 1970. The two were married on May 24, 1974, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and built an amazing family together over the next five decades.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Anna Siner; his four children, Kyle Siner and wife Tiffany (Potter), Hope Brown and husband Chad Brown, Meredith Williams and husband Robert Williams, and Quinn Siner and wife Collette (Savageau); and his sixteen grandchildren: Mia, Remi, and Talia Siner; Brody, Rowan, Callen, and Beckett Brown; Joelle, Reid, and Lila Williams; and Gavin, Camden, Xavier, Lydia, Juliette, and Palmer Siner. He is also survived by his sisters, Diana Forster and Denise Lovato, and brother-in-law Wil Lovato.

Don built a long and respected career in banking, finance, and small business lending. He took great pride in working with and supporting small business owners. He worked at Guaranteed State Bank in Kansas City, Kansas, and Centennial State Bank in Denver, Colorado, before serving with the Federal Small Business Administration in Omaha, Nebraska, from 1976 to 2003. After his retirement from federal service, he co-founded Guaranteed Lenders Consultants, and continued helping banks from 2004 to 2018.

Family and faith were the center of Don’s life. He was a proud father and grandfather who cherished every opportunity to care for and spend time with his grandchildren, even into his later years. Don delighted in being “Papa” to his grandkids. So proud, in fact, that he once ordered a personalized license plate that read “PAPAX13” to celebrate his 13 grandchildren at the time. Unfortunately for the license plate, Don’s family kept growing. Before long, it was hopelessly out of date as he happily welcomed three more grandchildren, bringing his grand total—and one of his greatest accomplishments—to 16.

He was a devoted Catholic and served as a eucharistic minister. He found great joy in spending time with family and friends and in serving others as a Boy Scout leader, YMCA soccer coach, and CCD teacher. He also loved genealogy, reading , gardening, movies and television, travel, ice cream, donuts, and playing cards and other games. Though not Italian by birth, Don married into an Italian family and wholeheartedly embraced its traditions, culture, and spirit with such enthusiasm that he eventually became every bit as Italian as the rest of the family.

Don will be remembered for his steady devotion to his family, his deep faith, his generous service to others, and the warmth, patience, and kindness he shared throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
