Wisner - Diane Scholting was born on 4/9/1949 to Morris and Verna Seibold. She had 2 siblings, Nancy and Neal. She started her childhood on the farm, where she had a love for showing livestock in 4H and horses as well. They later moved to town, where she took great pleasure in being part of the Papillion Band. She played the French Horn and enjoyed all the friendships she created in doing so. Through high school, while there wasn’t female sports, she developed a love for athletics, dreaming to play sports. She took a fond liking to softball and began playing in town teams, tournaments and was a very good pitcher. Diane began dating Ed “Butch” Scholting while she was in high school and later would marry on March 15, 1969. Before having children, Ed and Diane enjoyed traveling and also boating with very close friends. Ed and Diane also enjoyed bowling, and they participated in many different bowling leagues together, and Diane individually as well for many many years. Diane had two children, both boys, Andy born on Dec 12, 1975, and Carl born March 29, 1979. She was exceptionally proud of her two boys and their accomplishments, in work, sports, and their families as well. Throughout much of their family time, Diane took great pride in their home farm in Springfield NE. Everything from planting trees, mowing, landscaping, and just making sure the place was kept clean, it was a mission for her. She was so proud of their farm place, dreaming of it being featured on day in Farm and Ranch magazine. Diane also had a love for livestock and farming herself. She worked alongside Ed and the boys for many years, doing many manual labor tasks including everything from cattle and pig chores, to doing most all the tillage operations before “no-till” farming became a common cultural practice. In the early to mid-90’s Diane began working as a bookkeeper for TAP enterprises, a tool sale company. She started from the very bottom, and within just a handful of years, Diane had worked herself to one of 2 managers running the organization. She enjoyed the office friendships and bonds she created working for TAP enterprises. As grandchildren came along, Raegan, August, Taylor, Riley, Ross, Abram, Skylar, Haley, and Brody, they quickly became her pride and joy. Diane always loved sports, and did everything she could to watch her grandchildren play ball. Be it football, softball, basketball, whatever, she loved to watch. While she was limited physically to attend as many games as she would like, Diane became a streaming junkie, watching multiple events every week. It was not uncommon for Diane to have 2-3 different things going at one time on the TV, IPAD, and even her phone. When Diane moved to Wisner to be closer to her boys, she joined Andy’s church and developed a love for her Church community and grew strong in her faith life. She was always willing to help donate her time, and resources to those in need of a simple birthday card, or the need to have a nice Christmas, Diane was always willing to help. Diane leaves a legacy of agriculture, family, and an outstanding work ethic taught to her own children, transferred down to her grandkids. She loved her family, and was proud of her farming heritage and will be missed greatly by her loved ones, family, and friends.
Preceded in death by husband Edwin. Survived by sons Andy (Lisa), Carl (Anne), grandchildren Reagan, August, Taylor, Riley, Ross, Abram, Skylar, Haley, Brody, siblings Neal (Kathy) Seibold, Nancy Seibold, many family and friends.
