11/6/1925 - 11/1/2020 Omaha - Deno Lee Allison Born November 6 th 1925 in Omaha NE deceased on November 1 st in Omaha NE at the age of 94 years. Deno was living at Ridgewood Retirement Community in Bennington NE at the time of his death. Deno was born to Leona Mae Compton but was adopted by Jess and Pearl Allison. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 68 years Maureen. He is survived by his Son Douglas Allison of Poway CA, Daughter Doria Herek  of Grand Junction CO, Son Scott Allison of Omaha NE Grandchildren Scott Allison and their children Summer and Olive of Mckinney TX, Kimberly Herek of Grand Junction CO, Paul Herek and their children Della and Mia of Grand Junction CO, Melissa Salaver of Grand Junction CO, Mark Allison of Omaha NE, Crystal Fort and their child Hannah of Poway CA, Erin Allison of Omaha NE, Shawn Hruza and their children Tyce, Chayslene and Zander of Gothenburg NE, Jaime Shuler and her children Kolton and Kree of Stamford TX. Sister –in-law Beverly Lindmier of Tucson AZ.  Many Nieces and Nephews Deno was born in Omaha in 1925 but moved to Council Bluffs shortly after where he went to school through the 10 th grade. He took a job with Union Telephone and Telegraph to help support his mother and installed telephone lines throughout the southwest U.S. until he was old enough to join the Navy at 17 years old. He was stationed in San Diego CA but served on a ship in the south Pacific during world war 2. He returned home and went to work at a downtown Omaha café where he learned his love for cooking. Deno entered an apprenticeship to become a bricklayer and met his Wife Maureen and was married in 1951. Deno and Maureen had three children. He worked as a bricklayer / stone mason until he went into business building homes in the 1960’s. Later he would work in the insurance industry until his retirement. Deno was active in his church and was an usher for several decades. He loved the Lord and he loved his family but his second love was for anything automotive. He was active in a car club until late in life. He enjoyed many road trips around the U.S. with his wife. He also enjoyed growing a garden every year. Deno lived a long and happy life and will be deeply missed. Visitation Tuesday 5:00 - 6:30 PM with Vigil Service at 6:30 PM at Roeder Mortuary. Funeral Service Wednesday 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Church 8200 N. 30th Street Omaha, NE. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to Fort Calhoun VFW 348.
