Dennis A. Huey

Dennis Arthur Huey age 77 of Omaha, Nebraska, died peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. His wife, son, nephew, and sister were at his side. He was preceded in death by parents: Darwin and Ursula Huey. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Susan; son: Curt; daughter-in-law: Adrianna; loving granddaughter: Danica; as well as sister: Darline Redd and her husband: Jimmy, all of Omaha. Dennis worked at Omaha Public Schools for 27 years as a building engineer and later in maintenance. After being retired for 3 months, he went back to work for another 10 years as parking lot security at Millard West High School. He enjoyed traveling, and took many trips, which usually included ships or shipyards. He loved going to Key West and Puerto Rico, where he often gave impromptu tours to others pointing out historical monuments and other points of interest. When he wasn’t on vacation, he enjoyed yard work, napping, and taking his favorite K-9 companion, Bullet, for walks. Dennis was known for his enormous generosity and appetite. His friendly personality and smile will be missed. 

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held this Spring at the Omaha National Cemetery.
