Delores M. Dotzler

Delores Marie Dotzler, daughter of Raymond and Adeline Thielen, was born on April 10, 1931, in Portsmouth, IA, the first of thirteen children. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.

On January 4, 1951, Delores was united in marriage to Raymond Dotzler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Delores was very active with St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance, IA, and worked at the Defiance State Bank. She loved raising their eight children and spending time with family. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.

In 1987, Ray and Delores made their home in Omaha, NE where they attended Trinity Church for many years. For the last seven years they were active in Bridge Church, that was started by their son, Ron Dotzler, and pastored by their grandson, Josh Dotzler. Delores Dotzler's faith was in her savior, Jesus Christ.

Delores died October 16 after a brief stay at Josie Harper Hospice House. Delores was eighty-five. Delores is survived by her husband, Ray; children: Mary Bieker of Omaha, NE; Joe of Omaha, NE; Ray of Omaha, NE; Ron of Omaha, NE; Paul of Franklin, MO; Dave of Bennington, NE; Beth Connor of Bennington, NE; 37 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; siblings: Elaine Wendt of Portsmouth, IA; Aggie Schulte of Carroll, IA; Ray Thielen of Omaha, NE; Chuck Thielen of Lincoln, NE; Gemma Finken of Olathe, KS; Shirley Hansen of Omaha, NE; Mary Maddox of Olathe, KS; and many other loving family and friends.
