Dean Bruggeman, Jr.

Dean Bruggeman Jr., 78, of Gretna, NE, passed away on September 20th, 2023.

He was born on March 26th, 1945 in Laredo, TX, to Dean Sr. and Mary Bruggeman. He married Diane Reeg on July 31st, 1966 in Wayne, NE. They resided in Wayne for 45 years, where he was active in the community. He retired in 2011, and he and Diane moved to the Omaha area to be near their children and grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Hall.

Dean is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane, daughter Marnie (Kyle) Nixon, son Matt (Ronda) Bruggeman, five grandchildren: McKenna, Morgan, Tristan, Keegan, and Braxton, sister Penny (Brent) Johnson and many relatives and friends. Dean really loved being outdoors, whether fishing or hunting, but most of all he loved attending all of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities over the years. He was a very present husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly.

Dean donated his body to science to help further research for Parkinson’s Disease.

Visitation Sunday 4 - 6 PM at Gretna Methodist Church. Memorial Service 10:30 AM Monday (9/25/23) at Gretna United Methodist Church   11457 S 204th St. Gretna.
