David Scott Hardy, Jr. “DJ” was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 21, 1991 to David Hardy Sr. and VeNessa Strong-Hardy. Throughout the years DJ attended Walnut Hill Elementary School, Lewis and Clark Middle School, and graduated from Burke High School in 2012.
DJ was known as “Goofie” to many people which perfectly explained his ultimate personality. He was an amazing soul that brought light with him everywhere he went. He had an infectious smile with an incredibly optimistic attitude. He was genuinely kind and always hungry! He was tremendously multi-talented in many facets ranging from music, dancing, drawing and sports. Though he had many hobbies, DJ’s passion was basketball, and he held a prominent position with the semi-pro basketball team The Omaha Cuttaz. DJ loved food as much as he loved life. If there’s a barbeque, DJ is there. If there’s a gathering taking place with food, DJ will be there whether he knew you or not grinning from ear to ear. But more than anything else, he loved his family and close friends. DJ had a special love for all kids especially for his steps-sons Sam and Izaiah, his god-son Kyrie, his nephews; Antwan Jr, DeZ’aRon, A’Zari and Danny Jr., nieces; K’Tera, A’Zyana and Naulia and many, many more nieces and nephews from his close friends.
DJ is preceded in death by his Grandfathers; Oscar Venson Johnson Jr and Frank Hardy, Grandma; Juanita “Chickie” Hardy, Great-Grandma; Amy Wells; Aunt; June “Tina” Strong and his niece; Dai’Lani; Special Love; TreCreecia “Cree” Brown,
He is survived by His Grandma; Tina Wood his Parents; David Hardy Sr and VeNessa Strong-Hardy , Sisters; Anisa Strong, Ketia Kellogg and DaVine Hardy, Brother; Davell Hardy and his special love; Jazmyn Burbine. DJ has an extremely large family made up of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and brothers from other mothers Steven Pierro, Devante Crawford, David Kellogg, and La-Von Cushinberry and numerous amounts of people that he affectionally referred to as “My Best Friends.”
